Pnawn cyfan o ddathlu ysgrifennu, ymchwilio a darllen am hanes lleol – hanes Wrecsam a Gogledd Ddwyrain Cymru, a llawer mwy y tu hwnt i hynny.

 

12.30 hanner dydd. Cyflwyniad byr i raglen y pnawn, gan ganolbwyntio’n arbennig ar grwpiau hanes lleol, amgueddfeydd a sefydliadau tebyg sydd wedi ymroi i hanes Gogledd Ddwyrain Cymru a sut i ddod o hyd i’w cyhoeddiadau, blogiau gwefan ac ati.

1.00pm. Mae’r ysgrifennwr lleol Peter Evans yn adrodd hanesion o’r lyfr am yr Alun, Resurrection River.

2.00pm. Mae’r awdur Anthony Riches yn sgwrsio am Anhwylder Straen Wedi Trawma yn y Llengoedd Rhufeinig, gyda sawl cyfeiriad at Ogledd Ddwyrain Cymru, yr ymchwil cefndirol i’w nofelau, a datblygiad prosiect Parc y Gorffennol yn yr Hôb.

3.00pm. Mae Andrew Green yn rhannu cefndir ei lyfr anhygoel Wales in a Hundred Objects.

4.00pm. Mae’r hanesydd milwrol Peter Doyle yn sôn am ei nofel, Percy: A Story of 1918, a’n cysylltiadau lleol arbennig gyda’r Ffiwsilwyr Brenhinol Cymreig

Saturday 17 April

A whole afternoon's celebration of writing, researching and reading about local history - Wrexham and North East Wales history, but much more besides.

 

12.30 noon. A short introduction to the afternoon's programme, with a special focus on some of the local history groups, museums and similar organisations dedicated to the history of North East Wales and how to find their publications, website blogs, etc.

1.00pm. Local writer Peter Evans spins some yarns from his book about the Alun, Resurrection River

2.00pm. Author Anthony Riches talks about PTSD in the Roman Legions, with lots of references to North East Wales, the research background to his novels, and the development of Hope’s Park in the Past project.

3.00pm. Andrew Green shares the background to his amazing book Wales In A Hundred Objects.

4.00pm. Military historian Peter Doyle talks about his novel, Percy: A Story of 1918, and our special local links to the Royal Welch Fusiliers
